AROUND AND ABOUT

Brécey- 5 minutes drive

A pleasant market town with all the shops and amenities you'll need. Friday is market day for buying local produce, fish, and cheeses. En-route there is a lovely lake, perfect for an evening stroll.  There are 2 communal heated open air swimming pools, open June, July and August. 

AVRANCHES - 20 MINUTES DRIVE

The nearest large town, it has many shops and  restaurants, the famous Jardin de Plantes, which has impressive views out to Mont St Michel and the renowned Scriptorial Museum.

Parc de la Baie - is a large shopping centre on the outskirts of the town, with a Carrefour Hypermarket and Jardiland, a lovely garden centre with a huge gift shop.

VILLEDIEU LES POELES - 20 MINUTES DRIVE

A pretty town, proud of its museums, copper workshop and working bell foundry. Take a stroll along the Siena river and admire its Washhouses. There are lots of interesting shops selling copper goods.  

ST HILAIRE DU HARCOUET - 20 MINUTES DRIVE

Has a picturesque church, park and lake.  It also hosts the largest and most popular market in the area every Wednesday. Get there early! 

MONT ST MICHEL - 40 MINS DRIVE

A UNESCO World Heritage Site, with many historic, medieval, buildings, Abbey and restaurants. Why not take a guided walk across the bay?

GRANVILLE - 40 MINUTES DRIVE

A lovely seaside town with an historic centre and great views from the ramparts. The famous Christian Dior Museum and gardens are well worth a visit.

Has superb walks by two waterfalls, pony-trekking, go-karting, the famous Abbaye Blanche (White Abbey) and a popular walking/cycling route along a disused railway track (the Voie Verte).

 Lovely sandy beaches at Carolles and Jullouville. The Route de Sentier is a promenade by the beach which goes through all the main resorts from Carolles to Granville.
